Children’s Ministries

The Seventh-day Adventist Church believes in providing an environment where children can experience the satisfaction of serving others. The Children’s Ministries department takes an active role in this process by supporting programs where children can participate and become involved.

Helping each child to have a trusting, loving, and increasing relationship with Jesus, the department works in cooperation with local conference directors and dedicated volunteers to create and maintain successful children’s ministries in churches across the Southern Union.

The Children’s Ministries department promotes and coordinates ministry for children, as well as involving children in service to others. Christ’s instruction to feed the lambs provides the impetus for the church to meet the needs of children in fellowship, worship, stewardship, and outreach.

Studies have shown that children between the ages of 5 and 13 have a 32% likelihood of accepting Jesus as their Savior.* That percentage drops drastically as a child grows older.

To foster a lifelong commitment to Jesus, several programs have been created, including: Sabbath School, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Church. These ministries encourage children to begin a lifelong commitment to Jesus.

“The Investigation Station is a place where kids investigate God’s Word. Each day the kids will investigate a different Bible truth through Bible stories, scientific facts, and more. Throughout each day’s program they will gather evidence in their journals, and at the closing program they will discuss their conclusions. All aspects of this VBS program point kids to God as the Creator with a plan for their lives.” – AdventSource
