Secondary Education/Southern Union Conference Office of Education

The Secondary Education Department of the Southern Union Conference Office of Education partners with schools to advance academic excellence, spiritual growth, and intentional character development for students navigating an increasingly complex world. Rooted in Seventh-day Adventist values, the department collaborates with school leaders to strengthen instructional quality, system alignment, and continuous improvement across the Union’s secondary programs.

The Southern Union Conference serves 13 senior academies, all of which provide instruction through Grade 12, including three boarding academies. In addition, the Union supports 17 junior academies that serve students through Grade 10, along with three partner junior academies that collaborate with senior academies to extend instruction through Grade 12. The Union also oversees Atlanta Adventist Academy, a remote learning school that delivers a high-quality, standards-based Adventist education through its innovative TRUeConnect model, utilizing real-time, interactive technology to serve students both locally and internationally through partner campuses.

Secondary Education staff provide system-wide leadership across the Union’s secondary schools. Key responsibilities include serving as the registrar for junior academies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of academic records, coordinating school evaluations and accreditation processes for all Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 institutions, and offering consultative support to conference. Through these efforts, the department promotes consistency, accountability, and excellence in Adventist education.
