Continuing Education Statements

Dentists/Hygienists: (6 Hours) This course, “Common Oral Pathologic Conditions: What is this and what do I do about it”, meets the Dental Board of California’s requirements for 6 units of continuing education.

Nurses: (6 Hours) All nursing activities submitted to the Tennessee Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. The Tennessee Nurses Association is an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Optometrists: (6 Hours) COPE Administrators – These activities, COPE Activities Number(s) 57391-GL, 57388-GL, 57275-SD, 57404-PB, have been accredited by COPE for continuing education for optometrists. Accredited Providers – The Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is an accredited provider by COPE to provide continuing education to optometrists.

Physical Therapists: (6 Hours) ProCert has awarded certification in the amount of 6 Continuing Competence Units (CCUs) to this activity. CCUs are a unit of relative value of an activity based on its evaluation against a rigorous and comprehensive set of standards representing the quality of an activity. The CCU determination is a valuation applying many factors including, but not limited to, duration of the activity. No conclusion should be drawn that CCUs correlate to time (e.g. hours).

Statement of Purpose or Overall Objective: This program is designed to provide current, concise information on a variety of topics that are relevant to physicians and other health care providers in all specialties. The attendee is informed of practices that will improve patient care and enhance risk management skills. In addition, a lecture on stress will provide an overview on the importance of the nature of psychological stress and will describe the mechanisms that link stress with disease and appropriate interventions.
