Chaplains

Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) is the official branch of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide support for Adventists Chaplains. In the Southern Union, this ministry provides Adventists chaplains with resources, and support in correctional, educational, healthcare, and community and military environments and other institutional settings.

The following services are offered by ACM.

Ecclesiastical Endorsement: The national ACM headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church endorses only qualified chaplains. This endorsement process includes requirements for becoming a chaplain and information on becoming a fully endorsed chaplain.

Chaplaincy and Areas of Ministry: Seventh-day Adventist Chaplains often serve in ministries where they are the only Adventist pastoral presence. This could include settings like correctional institutions, educational campuses, and the military. ACM nurtures these ministries and provides support to the chaplains that work in these areas.

Directory of Endorsed Chaplains: To foster communication between church leadership and chaplains, pastoral counselors, and clinical pastoral educators, ACM maintains a directory of ministers endorsed by ACM.

For more information on these services, please visit the Adventist Chaplains Ministries website.

Student Bible Kit: A package has been developed for Adventist students attending non-Adventist colleges and universities. This kit includes a Bible, a modern version of Steps to Christ, a small book on the Sabbath and creation, and Dialogue, a magazine prepared by the Education Department. Instructions are also included on locating Adventist Activities Associations that are members of Adventist Christian Fellowship. The Student Bible Kit is available in limited quantities from AdventSource and should be ordered by a pastor. There is a small charge to cover handling and shipping fees.
