2026 Hurricane Preparedness
Hello Southern Union Family,
As we enter the 2026 Hurricane Season, FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) has issued an advisory outlining the preparedness and response strategies being implemented for this season.
Page two of the advisory includes important measures that individuals and families should take to prepare for potential emergencies. The letter also contains links to valuable planning resources that can help households and communities become more disaster ready.
I encourage you to review the advisory carefully and discuss with your family, church members, and community partners the steps that should be taken in preparation for possible hurricanes and other disasters. As you make your plans, please remember those who may need additional assistance, including older adults, individuals with disabilities, those with limited transportation, and others who may be especially vulnerable during an emergency.
The time for disaster planning is long before a disaster is upon us. Please make every effort to prepare now so that you, your family, your church, and your community can respond effectively should a disaster occur.
Thank you for your commitment to preparedness and service.
In His Service,
Dr. Victor J. Maddox
