• Gulf States and Florida have the greatest percentage increases in membership.

• With over 47,300 members, Florida is the largest conference; and Georgia-Cumberland has the most schools at 59.

• The South Atlantic, South Central and Southeastern Conferences are devoted to meeting specific cultural needs, and are made up of congregations and institutions which are primarily African-American, Caribbean, Asian, or Spanish-Speaking.

• KY-Tennessee was the first formed conference in 1876, and Carolina is the first recorded conference to have an organized effort to reach the Native American population.
