John Bradshaw is the speaker/director of It Is Written, an international media evangelism ministry. As a teacher of Bible prophecy, his presentations have blessed thousands of people around the world. He has filmed It Is Written programs on five continents. John is married to Melissa and they have two children.
Dr. Carlton P. Byrd is currently the Senior Pastor of the Oakwood University Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church on the campus of Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, and the Speaker/Director of the Breath of Life Television Broadcast for the SDA Church in North America.
Dr. Byrd is a graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. He is also a graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, where he earned the Master of Business Administration Degree, and a graduate of Andrews University (SDA Theological Seminary) in Berrien Springs, MI, where he earned both the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees.
In his twenty-two years of pastoral leadership in the states of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia, Dr. Byrd has constructed and renovated churches and schools, baptized over 3,500 persons, served on numerous denominational and community boards, along with serving as a guest minister on several religious television networks. Since his appointment as Speaker/Director for Breath of Life, two new Breath of Life churches have been planted and started in San Antonio, TX and Stamford, CT respectively.
Since his arrival at the Oakwood University Church in January, 2012, Dr. Byrd has baptized over 400 persons, spearheaded the renovation of the church, constructed the 5.4 million dollar Oakwood Adventist Academy building, opened a vegetarian food market and bookstore in the church, and is currently leading the construction of a new 3-million-dollar Family Life Center, inclusive of a gymnasium, classrooms, and community service ministry area for the church and community alike.
Dr. Byrd is happily married to his wife of nineteen years, the former Danielle Mounter, and they are the proud parents of three girls, Christyn, Caileigh, and Carissa.
Walter Castro is a Ministerial Associate for The Volunteer Lay Pastor Ministry at Florida Conference. He also coordinates the Church Planting Department providing resources and training along with a Church Planting Team. He’s passionate about public speaking, evangelism, church planting and lay training. He holds a Master’s Degree and a Doctoral degree from Andrews University.
Rebecca Davis completed her B.A in Ministerial Theology in 2004, at Oakwood University. After graduation, Rebecca matriculated to Andrews University Theological Seminary enrolling in the Master’s of Divinity program. Before completing the Master’s program Rebecca took some time to go abroad. She lived in South Korea for six months where she taught English and Religion. Rebecca returned to the U.S. as well as to Andrews University and graduated with her MDiv. in August of 2007. Immediately following, Rebecca was hired by the Potomac Conference of Seventh day Adventist to serve as Chaplain of In-reach and Bible teacher at Shenandoah Valley Academy in New Market, VA. Where she was the first African American to serve on the teaching staff there since the school’s inception.
Rebecca has two beautiful children Justin Zachary Davis II, 6, and Olivia Nicole Davis, 2. Olivia and Justin are gifts from God!
In March of 2011, Rebecca Davis received a call to the Great South Atlantic Conference where she served as Associate Pastor at the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church in Atlanta, GA for four years. Pastor Rebecca Davis is the first female in the South Atlantic Conference to be installed as "senior" pastor in her own church district, which is known as the Washington-Thomson, GA district.
Jennifer Deans is passionate about helping people feel God’s relevance in their lives through experiential ministry. More than anything else Jennifer desires to lead people to a more personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. She believes you can’t give what you don’t have, so she is committed to seeking Jesus moment by moment.
Jennifer graduated from Blue Mountain Academy in 1999 and proceeded to Columbia Union College where she studied Metropolitan Ministries, with a concentration in Theology, graduating in 2003. Hired by the Potomac Conference her senior year, she attended Andrews Theological Seminary, graduating in December of 2005 with a Master of Divinity degree. After graduation, Jennifer began working for the Potomac Conference Youth Department until becoming the Associate/Youth Pastor of the Vienna Seventh-day Adventist Church in July 2006 where she served until August 2012. While at Vienna, Jennifer was honored to be Ordained-commissioned by the Potomac Conference on July 23, 2011. In September 2012, Jennifer joined the pastoral staff of Community Praise Center as the campus Pastor for CPC-Dulles. Jennifer was excited and honored to lead the CPC-Dulles campus as they were planted as a church on April 25, 2015.
July 9, 2006 Jennifer married her high school sweetheart, Kevin John Deans I. To add to their wonderful life, Kevin and Jennifer had their first child on August 24, 2012. Kevin John Deans II is a very special boy that they absolutely adore.
On April 25, 2015 Jennifer was excited and honored to lead the CPC-Dulles campus as they were planted as a church. She is thoroughly enjoying pastoring at Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church, formerly CPC-Dulles, and being part of all the amazing things God is doing.
Myron Pelote Edmonds responded to the call to the gospel ministry while a student at Oakwood College, in Huntsville, Alabama through the inspiration of a conversation with the late Dr. E.E. Cleveland. He graduated from Oakwood College (now Oakwood University) in 1999 with a B.A. in Theology and continued his academic growth at Andrews University completing his Masters of Divinity in 2001. He completed his Doctor of Ministry from Andrews Theological Seminary with a concentration in Family Ministries in 2014. His dissertation project research deals with the role and absence of African-American men as Spiritual Leaders.
Pastor Edmonds is an author and recently published his first book “40 DAYS TO LIFE-CHANGING FAMILY WORSHIP” which has helped many families experience the power of God in the home.
Pastor Edmonds is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Dr. Shanee’ Arthurs-Edmonds of Cleveland, OH. She is a practicing dentist. They are the parents of 11-year-old daughter, Teylor and a 9-year-old son, Camden.
Currently, Pastor Edmonds is the Senior Pastor of the historic and growing Glenville SDA Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Pastor Edmonds’ is passionate about preaching and leading people to Jesus Christ. His motto in life is Matt 6:33. “But seek first the kingdom of heaven, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Ty Gibson at the age of eighteen encountered the truth of God’s existence for the first time. After having been raised with a purely secular worldview and having witnessed evil and suffering firsthand, Ty was completely opposed to the idea of a Supreme Being. “If God exists,” he reasoned, “He would have to be cruel to have made a world like ours?” Ty’s conversion as a teenager was founded on the answer to that question. The powerful reality of God’s love opened Ty’s mind to a whole new line of thought. Since then he has given his life to the joyous task of sharing God’s good character in public seminars as well as through print and video media. Ty is the Co-Director/Speaker, Light Bearers.
Frank Gonzalez is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Andrews Theological Seminary. He is also the author of Seven Words of Hope (Pacific Press, 2014). Frank currently serves as the Senior Pastor for the 929-member Adventist congregation in beautiful Avon Park, Florida.
He is best known for his 17-year-tenure as Speaker/Director of La Voz de la Esperanza (Adventism’s oldest and largest Spanish media ministry) where the Lord used him to bring many thousands into the Church. Elder González has authored 12 books and hundreds of articles. He has been recognized for “Outstanding Performance in Pulpit Oratory” by Southern Adventist University and is featured in Vol. 10 of ACN’s “Great Adventist Preaching” series. But his proudest achievement is his 36-year marriage to Evelyn and their grown children, Sergio, Benjamin, and Bianca.
Richie Halversen, has had the privilege of speaking throughout the United States and Europe. His relevant and dynamic teaching style have created an easy-to-understand seminars that have inspired thousands. After years of battling drug addiction, he experienced a powerful conversion experience and accepted God’s calling into pastoral ministry. He counts it the greatest privilege to tell others about the love of Jesus. He is passionate about evangelism, pointing people to the attractions of Jesus, and creating environments where people can grow safely in Him. He currently pastors the College Drive Seventh-day Adventist church in Pearl MS, as well as a new church plant called The Ridge in Clinton MS. This year he was appointed church planting director of the Gulf States Conference, and is excited about the various church plants that are planned for the future. His partner in ministry is his wife Brittney who he has been married to for 19 years. They have four children: Kaleb, Hayley, Tristen, and Taylor.
Charles Wesley Knight, D. Min is a preacher, pastor, professor, mentor, author and agent of change. He is a pastor with a heart for God and with a message of hope for all people. Pastor Knight believes strongly in equipping the church to accomplish its mission in the world.
Dr. Knight’s greatest joy in this world is his family. He is joyfully married to his best friend Stephanie, who works as an Occupational Therapist and who also serves the Lord through preaching, teaching, and empowering women. They are blessed to have two wonderful children.
In September of 2015, Dr. Knight joined the full time faculty of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama as Assistant Professor of Religion. Professor Knight’s appointment at Oakwood University is also a return to his alma mater where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. His studies continued at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan where he earned a Masters in Divinity with an emphasis in preaching. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from the McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
He is featured as an outstanding preacher and contributor in the books, Preaching with Power and Called. In April of 2012, he was inducted into the prestigious Martin Luther King Board of Preachers and Scholars at Morehouse College. His first book, The Thirst: How to Be Loved from The Inside Out will be released in 2016. This inaugural work has as its impetus, Professor Knight’s renowned sermon series “Sex and The City”.
Alex McFarland is a speaker, writer, and advocate for Christian apologetics, he has spoken in hundreds of locations throughout the US and abroad. He has preached in over 1,500 different churches throughout North America and internationally, and has been featured at conferences such as The Billy Graham School of Evangelism, Focus On the Family’s Big Dig, Josh McDowell’s True Foundations events, California’s Spirit West Coast, and many more.
Beginning in 1991, Alex pioneered apologetics conference formats designed to equip teens and adults to defend their faith. Attendees of all ages began to attend Alex’s “Truth for A New Generation” events, eagerly learning from scholars such as Josh McDowell, Ravi Zacharias, Lee Strobel, Chuck Colson, and others.
In his home state of NC, Alex McFarland was named one of “Forty Leaders Under the Age of Forty,” by the Jaycees. Alex is the only evangelist known to have preached in all 50 states in only 50 days, through his “Tour of Truth.” This crusade across America included 64 evangelistic services and became the subject of Alex’s first book.
Alan Parker is a professor in the School of Religion at Southern Adventist University, where he also directs both the Soul-winning and Leadership Training (SALT) Program and the Pierson Institute of Evangelism and World Missions. Alan has served as a district pastor, camps chaplain, administrator, teacher and evangelist. His wife, Nicole, is a biblical counselor and they have three children whom they homeschool.
Keith W. Reid is a Seventh-day Adventist today because of public evangelism. While employed as a chemical engineer at DuPont, he was invited to attend an evangelistic meeting where he accepted Christ, was baptized, and hit the ground running! His desire to be a full-time servant in ministry grew, and literature evangelism became the answer to his heart’s yearning. Stepping away from a promising career, he gained a promotion to canvassing, achieving leadership within 6 months. Keith has served in Northeastern, South Central, and Kentucky-Tennessee Conferences and has fulfilled the duties of literature evangelist, Associate Publishing Director, and Publishing Director. He currently serves as Associate Publishing Director for the Southern Union. Keith treasures his wife and helper, Carolyn, and their daughter, a college student who has placed magabooks in many homes during the summers.
Anthony WagenerSmith combines theology and practice as a disciple-maker, church planter, and developer of church planting support systems and strategies. He serves in Tampa Bay, Florida along with his wife Lianro--a school Psychologist--and kids Levi (7) and Sage (5). A graduate of Southern Adventist University, he also has a Doctor of Ministry in Missional Church Planting from Fuller Theological Seminary, and is a proponent of Adventist mission in all its forms."
William S. Smith is the Publishing Director of the Southern Union Conference. For 38 years he has enjoyed training thousands of members in literature ministry. He has seen God use students, lay members, and career literature evangelists win thousands of souls for Christ. William has also served as Chaplain of Oakwood University, and has ministered Internationally in Africa, Inter-America, and the UK. His wife, Joyce, is a Recruitment Specialist for Christian Education, and they have two children; Dr. Kellie Castro, a practicing dentist in Charlotte, NC, and William II, a Director of one of the International Exchange Student programs at Purdue University.
James Emery White is the founding and senior pastor of Mecklenburg Community Church in Charlotte, North Carolina; founder and president of Serious Times, a ministry that explores the intersection of faith and culture and hosts Church and Culture.org which features his messages and blogs; ranked adjunctive professor of theology and culture at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he also served as their fourth president; and author of twenty books which have been translated into ten languages.
Dr. White holds a B.S. degree in public relations and business, along with the M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Seminary, where he was awarded a Garrett Teaching Fellowship in both New Testament and Theology. He currently serves on the Board of Reference at Union University and has served on the Board of the Boston Theological Institute, which includes such schools as Boston College, Boston University and Harvard.
Dr. White is the author of twenty books, including Gold Medallion nominees for Serious Times and A Search for the Spiritual, Christianity Today book-of-the-year award winner Embracing the Mysterious God, as well as A Mind for God and Rethinking the Church. His most recent publications include What They Didn’t Teach You in Seminary, A Traveler’s Guide to the Kingdom, The Church in An Age of Crisis, and his most recent book, The Rise of the Nones: Understanding and Reaching the Religiously Unaffiliated (Baker).
Though his family's roots have been tied to North Carolina for generations, he was born in Chicago, and then lived in California, Utah and Washington during his childhood. His family returned to North Carolina during his teen years. Dr. White and his wife, Susan, have four children and three grandchildren.
Justin Yang is a second generation Adventist minister with over 18 years of ministry experience from Korea, China, India, Philippines, Thailand, Laos and United States. He has served as a youth leader, teacher, chaplain, missionary, pastor and ministries director in various mission fields around the world. He is currently pastoring the 1st Korean church in North American Division to radically and completely delegate the church leadership to the next generation. He’s also the husband to the most beautiful woman in the world, Iris Yang and a happy father to his son Enoch who is 3 years old.
