ECE Learning Standards

The Southern Union early childhood education and care teacher goals and developmental performance standards for the growth of young children are applicable to infants through preschool age children. These standards and benchmarks provide teachers purposeful direction for creating meaningful experiences for the growth and progress of appropriate skill development in the rapidly changing young child.

Early Childhood Education Learning Standards

Pebbles:  A Faith-based Early Childhood Curriculum is the officially adopted curriculum for Southern Union Conference early childhood education birth through pre-kindergarten.
It is designed and created to meet the goals and developmental performance standards for and philosophy and objectives of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education and care.
This curriculum has been built on the 4MAT for ECE platform and requires training in the natural cycle of learning prior to implementation to ensure that all children’s learning styles will be honored.
It is available for use in all Southern Union Conference Early Childhood Programs of birth through prekindergarten and schools with prekindergarten classrooms.
It is to be used in both stand-alone and PreK-K combination classrooms as it has been aligned with the NAD’s kindergarten curriculum Stepping Stones.
